At Medway Group of Hospitals, we are committed to fostering a healthier and cleaner environment for our community. As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, we launched a series of videos addressing the pressing public health concern of spitting in public places.
In one video, our esteemed Chairman emphasizes the importance of personal and societal responsibility in maintaining public hygiene. Veteran talk show host and author, Mr. Gopinath, joins the Chairman in passionately conveying that such behavior is unacceptable and unsanitary. The video, titled “Thupurathu Thappu,” meaning “Spitting is Wrong,” encourages everyone to take a stand against this unhygienic practice. The video culminates with a unified message from random individuals and our Chairman, all echoing the same sentiment: “Thupurathu Thappu.”
In another video, the Chairman delves deeper into the harmful consequences of spitting in public. He explains how this act contributes to the spread of dangerous diseases, including colds, tuberculosis, and severe conditions like brain fever. By highlighting these risks, the video serves as a crucial reminder of the public health dangers posed by this seemingly small but harmful habit.
These initiatives reflect our ongoing commitment to improving public health and fostering a culture of cleanliness and responsibility. Together, let’s make our public spaces cleaner and healthier for everyone.
