Dr. Praveenkumar Natarajan

Dr. Praveenkumar Natarajan is an academically distinguished Nephrologist with advanced superspecialty training in Nephrology and Kidney Transplantation. Recognized for his exceptional academic record and multiple gold medals throughout his medical career, he represents a new generation of evidence driven, precision focused kidney specialists.

He completed his D.M. in Nephrology from Madras Medical College, Chennai, after earning his M.D. in General Medicine and DNB certification. His academic excellence has been consistently recognized at university and national levels, including the prestigious Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR University Gold Medal in Nephrology.

Further strengthening his subspecialty expertise, Dr. Praveenkumar has received the GlomCon Fellowship in Glomerular Diseases and has completed the ESE Nephrology (UK) program, reflecting structured international exposure in advanced nephrology practice.

His clinical interests include complex glomerular diseases, acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, electrolyte and acid base disorders, and comprehensive renal transplant care. He has hands on experience in deceased donor, live related, ABO incompatible, and pediatric kidney transplantation.

He performs ultrasound-guided renal biopsies (native and graft), tunneled and non-tunneled dialysis catheter insertions, peritoneal dialysis (including automated PD), plasmapheresis, and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT). His approach integrates clinical depth, procedural expertise, and research informed decision making to deliver protocol driven, outcome focused kidney care.
